Privacy Policy
This is a one-person studio. What you send reaches one inbox, is used for the reason you sent it, and is not sold or shared for advertising.
1Who we are
This website, www.wisdomseven.qa, is owned and run by Mohammed A. Al-Suwaidi, working under the name WisdomSeven, from Doha in the State of Qatar. Where this page says “we”, “us” or “the Studio”, that is who is meant.
This is a working portfolio for a single artist, not a large company. Data reaches one person, and it is handled that way.
2What this policy covers
It covers information collected through this website and through direct correspondence with us, such as email. It does not cover other platforms we link to — Instagram, X, YouTube, Threads, Facebook or harfesem.com — each of which runs under its own policy.
3What we collect
As little as possible. In practice:
- What you type into a form — your name, email address, the kind of project you pick, and whatever you write in the message field of the brief form.
- Your email address, if you join Sahtot Society or put your name down for a product restock. If you sign up for a restock we also keep the product you asked about, because that is the whole point of the list.
- Technical records kept automatically by the hosting provider for security and uptime — IP address, browser and device type, and the time of the request.
- Your language choice, English or Arabic, which is stored in your own browser and never sent to us.
We do not ask for identity documents, addresses or payment card details on this site.
4Children
Much of the Studio's work — Harf Esem, Mandoos, the workshops — is made for children. This website is not. It is written for clients, studios, festivals, schools and parents, and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If your child has sent us something, write to us and it will be deleted.
5Why we use it
- To answer your enquiry and carry on the conversation about a commission or collaboration.
- To send the Sahtot Society email if you asked for it, and to deliver the wallpaper pack that comes with joining.
- To tell you when a product you asked about is printed again, and to decide which products are worth reprinting at all.
- To keep the site running, secure and reasonably fast.
We do not sell your information, rent it, or hand it to advertisers. There is no advertising on this site.
6Consent, and taking it back
You give us this information voluntarily, by writing to us or signing up. You can withdraw at any time: use the unsubscribe link in any email we send, or write to us and ask. Withdrawing does not undo messages already sent, and it does not affect a commission already under way.
7Cookies and local storage
This site sets no advertising or tracking cookies and runs no third-party analytics. The only thing kept on your device is your language preference. Fonts are loaded from Google Fonts, which means your browser makes a request to Google's servers; that request is governed by Google's own policy.
8Who else sees it
Ordinarily, nobody. Your message goes to one inbox. The only exceptions are the service providers needed to run the site — the host, and the email provider used for the mailing list — who process data on our instructions, and any disclosure required by the law of the State of Qatar or by a competent authority.
9How long we keep it
Project correspondence is kept for as long as the working relationship lasts and for a reasonable period afterwards, since past briefs and approvals matter if a question comes up later. Mailing list and restock entries are kept until you unsubscribe. Server logs are kept for a short period by the host and then cycled out.
10Keeping it safe
The site is served over an encrypted connection and access to the inbox is protected. That said, no transmission over the internet is perfectly secure, and we cannot promise otherwise. Please do not send anything genuinely confidential through a web form — ask first and we will agree a better route.
11Your rights
Subject to Qatari law, including Law No. 13 of 2016 on personal data privacy, you may ask us to show you what we hold about you, correct it, delete it, or stop using it. Write to us and we will deal with the request within a reasonable time and at no charge.
12Where the data sits
The hosting and email services we rely on may store or process data on servers outside Qatar. By using the site or writing to us you accept that this may happen. We choose providers that apply recognised security practices.
13Changes
If this policy changes, the revised version appears here with a new date at the top. Continuing to use the site after that means you accept it.
14Getting in touch
Questions about privacy, or a request about your data, go to inquiry@wisdomseven.qa — WisdomSeven, Doha, State of Qatar.
Terms & Conditions
Sixteen years of drawings sit on this site. Look at all of it, link to it, quote it with a credit — but the characters are not free to reuse, redraw or feed to a model.
1Agreeing to these terms
Using www.wisdomseven.qa means you accept these terms and the privacy policy above. If you do not accept them, please leave the site.
2What “Work” means here
“Work” means everything on this site and in any portfolio or pitch material we send you: the characters and their names — Sahtot, the Wisdom Family, the Harf Esem cast — along with drawings, caricature strips, storyboards, animation frames, book and product designs, logos, photographs, written text, and the layout, code and visual design of the site itself.
3Ownership
The Work belongs to Mohammed A. Al-Suwaidi and is protected by the copyright and trademark laws of the State of Qatar and by international treaties, including the Berne Convention. Nothing here transfers ownership to anyone. All rights are reserved.
4Work owned by others
Some of what is shown here was made for other people and is shown as a credit, not as property. Mandoos and its characters were acquired by Al Jalila Cultural Centre for Children and produced with Lammtara. Rain and Al-Aqiq involve the Doha Film Institute. Those rights sit with their owners, and material relating to Al-Aqiq is shared on a confidential basis. Nothing on this site licenses you to use any of it.
5What you may do
You may look at the site, and you may save or print pages for your own reference — to assess a commission, review a portfolio for a festival or grant, or consider a collaboration. That permission is personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, and can be withdrawn.
6What you may not do
Without written permission from us, you must not:
- Copy, republish, distribute, broadcast, sell or licence any of the Work, or use it commercially in any form.
- Redraw, trace, adapt, translate or build anything derivative from the characters — new strips, stories, merchandise, animation, tattoos, or fan products offered for sale.
- Use any of the Work to train, fine-tune or evaluate a machine-learning or generative AI model, or to produce an imitation of this drawing style by such means.
- Remove or obscure a signature, watermark or credit, or present the Work as your own.
- Scrape the site in bulk, or try to break, overload or gain unauthorised access to it.
Sharing a link to a page, or quoting a short passage with a clear credit and a link back, is welcome and needs no permission.
7Commissions and client work
The brief form is an enquiry, not a contract. A commission begins only when scope, fee, schedule and rights have been agreed in writing and any deposit has been received. Unless that written agreement says otherwise, copyright in commissioned work stays with the artist and the client receives a defined licence to use it; original files, unused concepts and preliminary sketches are not included by default.
We reserve the right to show completed commissioned work in this portfolio and on social media unless we have agreed in writing to keep it private.
8The shop and the restock list
Products are printed in short runs and every item is currently out of stock. Prices shown are in Qatari Riyals, start at QAR 50.00, and are indicative — they may change before a run is printed, and a listing is not an offer to sell. Adding your name to the restock list creates no obligation on either side: it tells us what is worth reprinting, and nothing is reserved, charged or promised until an order is confirmed in writing.
9Anything you send us
If you send an idea, a script, a character or a suggestion that we did not ask for, please understand that similar ideas reach us often and that we may already be developing something comparable. We give you no confidentiality for unsolicited material and take on no obligation of any kind for it. Material sent under a signed agreement is a different matter and is treated accordingly.
10Not an offer of investment
Descriptions of projects in development, including Al-Aqiq, are shown to give context on the work. They are not an offer of securities, a solicitation of investment, or a promise that any project will be completed or released.
11Links to other sites
Links to YouTube, harfesem.com, social platforms and others are there for convenience. We do not control those sites and are not responsible for what appears on them.
12No warranty
The site is provided as it is. We try to keep it accurate and available, but we do not guarantee that it will be free of errors or interruptions, and information here may go out of date.
13Limits of liability
To the fullest extent Qatari law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss arising from your use of this site, including lost profit, lost data or business interruption.
14Indemnity
If your misuse of the Work leads to a claim against us, you agree to cover the resulting costs, including reasonable legal fees.
15Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Qatar, and the courts of Qatar have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising from them.
16Changes
We may revise these terms. The current version is always the one on this page, dated at the top.
